This Privacy Policy applies to the Aligned Self website, the Aligned Self iOS app, and direct communications with us such as contact form messages and support enquiries.

Different features collect different kinds of information. If you only browse the website, we collect far less than if you create an app account or contact us directly.

Information we collect

• Information you type into website forms, including your name, email address, and message.
• Account information used in the app, such as your email address, name, and account creation details.
• Content you choose to save in the app, including goals, reflections, gratitude entries, daily log notes, and similar self-improvement content.
• Subscription and entitlement information provided by Apple so premium access can be managed.
• Health, wellness, location, or weather-related data only when you explicitly grant the relevant permissions inside the app.
• Basic technical and security information, such as IP address, browser or device details, sign-in records, and session timestamps used to protect the service.
• Optional website analytics information, if you accept analytics cookies, to help us understand which pages are useful.

How we use information

• To respond to support, press, partnership, and general website enquiries.
• To create, secure, and maintain app accounts and saved content.
• To provide app features such as journalling, reflections, reminders, wellbeing integrations, and premium access.

Health, location, and sensitive app data

If you grant Apple Health, HealthKit, or location permissions, that access is optional and under your control. You can revoke or adjust permissions at any time in iOS Settings or the Apple Health app.

We do not use HealthKit or location data for advertising, cross-app tracking, or selling data to advertisers or data brokers.

How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only when it is needed to operate Aligned Self or when required by law.

• Apple handles App Store billing, subscription management, and purchase restoration under Apple policies.
• Hosting, database, email, infrastructure, or weather providers may process information on our behalf so the service can function.
• We may disclose information where necessary to comply with legal obligations, enforce terms, investigate abuse, or protect the rights, safety, and security of users or the service.

Retention

We keep website enquiries and support records for as long as they are reasonably useful for support, relationship management, legal compliance, or service operations.

App account information and saved content may remain available while your account is active. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it where reasonably possible.

Your choices

• You can manage app permissions, including notifications, location, and HealthKit access, through your device settings.

Children

Aligned Self is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
